Welcome To VertexTemplates.com Photoshop Tutorials Area - Grunge Brick Wall

Okay so I've decided to become a trendwhore and write a tutorial on the "Grunge" effect. But this one involves no custom brushes, and is alot easier.

Create a new document, (500x200 in mine) and apply a linear gradient with the gradient tool. Do so by clicking on the top of the image and dragging downwards. You should have something that looks like this.

Filter>Render>Difference Clouds

Now invert the image (ctrl+i)

Filter>Stylize>Glowing Edges

Filter>Brush Strokes >Accented Edges

Okay, now you should have something like this

Okay, now create a new layer (shift+ctrl+n) On the new layer, apply these filters.

Filter>Render>Clouds

Filter>Pixelate>Mosiac

Filter>Brush Strokes>Accented Edges

Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen

Filter>Stylize>Find Edges

Now right click the layer and select blending options, change the Blend Mode to Linear Burn like so

Thats it, now after adding a little text here's what I got.
